The Darke Group began life in the 1960’s as DB Darke – an engineering company. Several successful decades later it has expanded to include such diverse disciplines as architectural metalwork, water features, narrowboats and audio visual installations.

THE OBJECTIVE – To design a corporate identity that would work across a number of disciplines, that would be unmistakably recognisable as part of the group and that was uncomplicated and straightforward to implement.
THE OUTCOME – CATALYST has produced a sharp, clean, modern logo solution that can be applied easily across any discipline. The strong, simple colour way (black, white and a vibrant green) help to harmonise the companies into a cohesive group. The font – Myriad Bold and Roman – was chosen for its legibility and neutral, everyman ‘feel’ that could adapt to any type of company. The lowercase letters give the identity a friendly accessible appearance.
THE SERVICE – Although CATALYST usually produces more extensive multi-page websites often including e-commerce and subscriber elements, CATALYST can produce a simple one-page scrolling site for smaller start-up companies.
